Dixie's New Friend

We've been in Pullman for one full week now. We have the apartment situated (after purchasing a couch-in-a-box, aka a futon), we've explored campus and the town, and we've even met a few of the neighbors. Best of all...Dixie is on the verge of making a new friend! Ginny (as in Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter) the weiner dog puppy! They met the other night while some new friends came to visit. After the initial butt-sniffing, both seemed satisfied that the other was not a threat. They bonded over Dixie's "senior citizen" food, with Ginny sneaking one kernel of food at a time when Dixie had her back turned. They were on the verge of cuddling up together, but felt that the first meeting might be a little too soon for that. Maybe we can get a picture the next time Ginny visits.

As for the humans...we're doing fine. Still trudging through the slush and rain. Whenever the sun comes out we'll try to get some pictures of the town and campus for everybody.

Good to hear everyone, including Dixie, is making new friends. I hope the snow stops so everything can have a chance to dry up some.
We have a little snow here but not like you have there. No school today so the kids were happy. We bought Rock Band 2 and having a blast learning to play. We call ourselves the screamin' angels!! Ha ha!! Talk to ya later taters!!

Sounds like you two are getting around the neighborhood and meeting new friends...have you found a church yet? And, have you found your snow shovel yet??!!
How far are you from all the news we're hearing about with the snow melt and flooding?

Greg, You better keep a tight leash on my granddog. She is very special to us. Don't let her talk to strangers. It is always fun to take the time to see your updates. I hope Lindsey's interview went well, but it will work out for whatever is best. Maw Maw said a goodlooking young man called her today. She was tickled about that. She doesn't have the advantages of internet you know. Well I'll keep you informed of your weather. I probably watch the national weather more now than ever. We love you all.

Just remember the first year it the hardest and it passes quick. It's ok to admit that you are homesick. Good luck for all of you as you make new friends and find your way in a new place!
And watch out as cross country drives can become addictive... after a few months you may forget how big the country is and want to go on another drive. If all works out Chaos and I will drive back east for a month in the spring. 2600 miles with dog for a navigator since Dave may not be able to get the time off.
