Happy 4th of July

Sorry it took so long for me to post some new things on our blog. Internet troubles slowed me down to begin with, and we've been pretty busy soaking up the summer weather by playing sand volleyball and staying outdoors a lot. Also, for anyone who hadn't heard yet, I am working now (yeah!), so gone are the days of hanging out with Dixie and keeping everything up to date. :)

4th of July in Pullman was HOT but fun. We started the day at a cookout with some of our new Latin American friends. We tried new foods from Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, and the good 'ole US. Below is some of the group.

Later, we walked across town to a park where the community barbecue and fireworks were happening. We didn't make it in time for the food, but I caught some of the band. Greg was busy taking Dixie back home because dogs were not allowed in the park for this event, even though they are any other day. Luckily, he made it back to the park just in time for the fireworks. Pullman put on a pretty good fireworks show, complete with background music. The park was packed with people, although we haven't really heard a count on how many people attended. Here are a few shots of the fireworks.

We're hoping to camp this coming weekend near some hot springs in Idaho. Look for the pictures in a week or so!

Nice shot of the fireworks !! Tim and I didn't see any this time but Trent went with some of his friends at camp and text me a pic. It was starting to rain and no one else wanted to fool with it. I forgot to tell ya that Tim had to have 6 stitches in his right hand on Friday. He hurt it on a hatchet he was using to chop up kindling for the fire. He heard a kid scream and it startled him. Look for those exciting pics on the next email. Tell Dixie we love her and thanks for the comments on my blog. We went putt putt golfing at the beach with Trent. I'll send some pics your way. Later.

Those fireworks look like flowers or maybe a dried up dandelion. We didn't see any on the fourth, but we
watched them put off fireworks from our balcony at the beach over the ocean. They were really pretty. Things are pretty slow around here. The store anyway. John was over at the church several times this week to check out the new building. The same company that put up his garage is setting the building at church. It is 60x80 and 20 feet tall. It's being built where the picnic shelter was. Everyone is excited. Well I guess we'll hear from you when you get back from camping. Hug each other. Love you.

Linz,
I am glad you are back up and running with the blog. Everyone here has missed it. Those firework pics are so cool. The last one looks like an underwater sea creature. Hope you had a good weekend camping.
Love you,
Mom
